Inspired IT – the Role of Outsourced IT Support

Inspired IT are a rapidly expanding IT recruitment company. The telesales team at Inspired IT is always busy and at any time there are half a dozen recruitment agents calling potential customers, emailing CVs and recording the status of recruitment opportunities in their Contact Management system. Inspired’s IT infrastructure is fairly simple, consisting of a LAN with a couple of central servers providing email, Internet access and running the central contact management system. Although simple the IT is an essential element of the business, since the whole sales cycle revolves around the centralised Contact Management system which maintains the status on the various opportunities in the fast-moving and competitive world of recruitment. Consequently having an IT infrastructure which is both reliable and available is vital.

Like all SMEs, Inspired needs to maintain low overheads to survive. The work in maintaining the IT infrastructure, whilst critical, involves a relatively small amount of effort in any week. Employing a full-time IT professional would be overkill as well as representing a significant burden on the business. Inspired decided to take the plunge and outsource the IT Support to Desktop.

TDA Solutions website

TDA Solutions is a new company recently formed as a spin-off from its parent company. TDA Solutions specialise in the subcontract manufacture and clean room assembly of precision engineering components for the scientific, medical and other high vaccum equipment industries.

TDA Solutions needed a new website which publicised the right kind of professional image to existing and potential customers of their precision engineering services. They chose Desktop from a number of competitors as Desktop demonstrated the capability to develop a website which would promote the image they were looking for and were also able to provide a one-stop shop for developing compatable marketing brochures and flyers which were also needed for the new company.

The final website (www.tdasolutions.co.uk) proved very successful and through the extensive use of Flash technology promotes the right kind of image for the precision engineering marketplace.

CTL Engineering Ltd – Network & Helpdesk Support

CTL Engineering Ltd is an engineering company which provides sub-contract manufacturing services to the aeronautical, automative and other heavy engineering industries.

CTL have an IT infrastructure consisting of several servers running centralised file and print services and their manufacturing and accounts systems. Whilst IT is a critical part of their business infrastructure they wanted to avoid taking on a full-time IT professional to manage their IT infrastructure as it did not warrant a full-time role. Instead they opted to outsource the management of their IT infrastructure to Desktop Support Solutions Ltd.
